Focus stacking video by Tony Northrup. Focus Stacking or Macro Focus Stacking/Image Stacking is the technique of shooting multiple images with a different focus point and then combining these images via Photoshop or programs like Helicon Focus or Zerene Stacker, to create a single image with sharp focus all the way through the image. This is especially effective when shooting macro photos but can also be used for landscape and other shots as well.

You can also learn more about this technique from reading “Photographic Multishot Techniques:High Dynamic Range, Super-Resolution, Extended Depth of Field, Stitching” available in paperback or on the Kindle.
